This Puget Sound Teen Dating Violence Coalition meeting will be a training on Building Youth-centered Prevention Strategies. We will focus on methods of developing and implementing prevention strategies for LGBTQ youth, using the NW Network’s Love+ programming as a model. There will be an overview of the module series’ structure and considerations, to be followed by a skill-building practice session (contextual facilitation through some of the program’s key exercises).
The Outspoken Speakers Bureau (of LGBTQ and allied youth) will also provide a panel discussion about their experiences with youth-centered programming, what worked for them, and what didn’t serve them. The change in time for this meeting, as requested by coalition members, has been made in order to make the meeting space more accessible for youth to engage and participate.
Light refreshments will be provided. The meeting is free and open to youth and those that support youth, so feel free to invite your colleagues, coworkers, and young people to join.
